Autumn & Earth is a Melbourne based, online store specialising in bespoke dried flower arrangements. I use only Australian grown flowers and foliage that I grow in my garden or source from Australian growers and wholesalers.
When I began purchasing flowers to dry, I was surprised to learn approximately half the fresh flowers (more so for dried) sold in Australia are imported and often heavily treated with chemicals. Preserved flowers are often heavily treated with chemicals, dyes and synthetic sprays also which made it an easy decision to source only Australian grown flowers and dry everything naturally. This way I can ensure our flowers have a lower carbon footprint, are safer for my family's health and yours, to support Australians, and lastly, because they're fresher and more beautiful!
With the locally sourced and carefully selected flowers and foliage, I then air-dry everything naturally in my studio. I never
use chemicals, dyes or synthetic sprays. There's simply no need! Naturally dried flowers last for months to years in the correct environment and are completely biodegradable, simply add to your compost after use.
All purchases also help to benefit mental health research and support as 20% of profits are donated to Australian mental health organisations. This has always been an important cause to me which now adds further purpose to my business and hopefully further purpose to your purchases also.
